Coronation of Maria Theresa

A significant date for St. Martin's Cathedral is 25 June 1741, when there was crowned Maria Theresa as the Hungarian queen.

Gold-plated royal crown

On top of the church tower is located gold-plated replica of the Hungarian royal crown. The crown weighs 150 kg, the height goes up to 164 cm and a width is 144 cm. There is stored various documents inside the crown. Here was found even a document from time of Maria Theresa. Scroll was found in 2010 during crown reconstruction.
