Kuchajda Lake

Lake in district of Bratislava - Nové Mesto, used as a natural summer swimming pool.

 

Kuchajda name is derived from the German Kuh Weide, meaning pasture for cows. Kuchajda Lake was created from natural gravel pit with underground water.

 

City district Nové Mesto taking care about the natural swimming pool since 1994. Every year makes cleaning lake bed and controls the wholesomeness and purity of water. For guests there are a lot of buffets, toilets, changing rooms, area for ball games, various tools for exercise and playground for children. Every year in summer are organized in Kuchajda area various cultural events such as concerts, film screenings, magic show and various dance performances. For these events it was built here an amphitheater with benches where people can relax and enjoy the cultural experience.
