Fig tree in Rača

Can you imagine that in Bratislava is growing a subtropical tree? One of them is a Fig tree, which grows in Rača between houses for several years. Although a Fig needs warm climate, this tree is beautiful, healthy and even gives fruits. A fig tree is resistant to a maximum temperature of minus 15 ° C. If the air temperature in winter is lower, fig tree may freeze. But if is protected by houses and is situated in the lee side, can survive also in slovak winter.
